Rachel Zhang

Child genius. Uni drop-out. Asterix* Designer. I’m what happens when you mix Eastern wisdom, Western hustle, and a Type A design brain with four unfinished degrees and a cringey optimistic belief in possibility. With over 15 years designing digital experiences at places like Google, NAB, Telstra and now RACV, I help teams create better products and better ways of working. I blend storytelling, systems thinking and strategy to make digital feel deeply human (and fiscally fit). I co-founded The Elements Kit, served as a juror for the Good Design Awards, and speak at events for Friends of Figma, The Outlook and Sydney Design Thinking. I also show up for the creative community - especially when it comes to mental health, inclusion, and reminding designers of their magic sprinkle. I write regularly on LinkedIn, sharing my point of view as a first born daughter of an immigrant fam, and the real behind-the-scenes of design, leadership and life. I’m also the creator of the ✱Asterisk Designer - a future-fit designer archetype that blends craft, strategy, AI literacy, human skills, and purpose. I’m here to lead with heart, elevate the craft, and have a grand ole time doing it.
