Josie Young

I am an independent designer of brands, websites, print bits and digital bits. Writer of headlines, panels and interviews. And doer of more things also detailed through pictures here. Before living the Independent Women Pt. 1 Destiny’s Child life, I was a designer at Christopher Doyle & Co. where I worked on AGDA award-winning projects for clients such as Australian Design Radio, Spotify and Bell Shakespeare. During my time in this world of design et al. I’ve done things like, sit on the AGDA Junior Council, speak at Semi-Permanent, The Design Conference, Adobe Symposium and Sydney Design Festival. I have lectured at Universities, been featured on podcasts Australian Design Radio and Never Not Creative and sat on awards juries for AWARD and AGDA. And I've written, researched and facilitated panel discussions for AGDA and This Is Not University. In 2018, Christopher Doyle & Co, then a team of three, were awarded AGDA Studio of the Year, the same year, I was awarded AGDA's inaugural Emerging Designer of the Year. During my time with Christopher Doyle & Co., I worked on clients such as Bell Shakespeare, Spotify, Tom Mark Henry, YSG and Australian Design Radio. As well as working as a designer, I had the chance to dive deep into all facets of the daily runnings of a small studio. This, as a list, looks something like: project management, shoot and campaign production, copywriting, team leadership, client relationship management, brand strategy, campaign direction, mentorship and management of the studios student program This Is Not University.
